Watermeln on the Quay at Sustainable Boating in Leiden
This coming Saturday, during Sustainable Boating Day at the Beestenmarkt in Leiden, Watermeln will be providing quiet, clean energy right in the city – without hydrogen!
Our Hydrogen Generator will be temporarily deployed here as a battery pack, powered by a small grid connection. This way, we're supporting the charging infrastructure for the event, where visitors can test drive more than ten electric or hybrid boats. 🚤💨
Why Without Hydrogen? ⛔
Due to the combination of limited grid capacity and a relatively small power demand, the WM200 is being smartly utilized in this situation as a standalone buffer. Had the continuous power demand been higher – or the grid connection even tighter – then hydrogen would have been a logical next step here. 🫰
