Hydrogen is an energy carrier that can be generated from sustainable sources and ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜€ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€ potential for ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†. Alternatives such as ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜€ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐˜‚๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜€ are not. Yet, green hydrogen today still costs between โ‚ฌ10-โ‚ฌ20 per kilo in the Netherlands, making it relatively expensive compared to gasoline, diesel, or biogas.

The "minimum ambition" of "On the way to SEB" leads to the fact that the ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ผ๐—น๐˜‚๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿ’ถ is often chosen, which is not always hydrogen. In Europe, the focus is entirely on green hydrogen & leftovers. This sounds sustainable, but it sometimes makes a kWh very expensive.

Alternative fuels, such as Biogas and HVO, seem cheaper then, but these fuels do not offer a long-term and large-scale solution.
