Flexibility in Practice: Hydrogen and Battery in Perfect Harmony
Last week, our hydrogen planning was perfectly set: a swap scheduled for Monday morning, well ahead of time. However, as is often the case with clients, consumption deviated slightly from what was predicted. The hydrogen buffer quickly diminished in My.Watermeln – and in this specific project, a power outage was not an option.
Therefore, on Sunday, we decided to send a battery trailer from EcarPOWER to the location. This was connected to the AC input of our Hydrogen Generator. This allowed us to safely bridge the night until the hydrogen swap early Monday morning.
The best part? The client hardly noticed a thing.
A Bit of History
Fun fact: our founder Jasper Baltus ⚡️ established EcarACCU in 2017 during his internship at Autogroep Ursem Barten. He later also contributed to the design and rental of these battery trailers under the EcarPOWER banner – and now, together with his former colleague Bas Wassenaar ♻️🤝🔋, he helped to quickly resolve the situation.
